Well i was thinking one day, why not have certian npcs close shops at night?

IE: They can walk around town, goto bed, or whatever

basically, the shops would have hours of operations, to me this would add to the realism of game play, i have seen this used before in older text based MUDS

I can see it working for certain 'hidden' NPCs in the wild who can only be found at special times, but I think it would just get annoying for town NPCs...

Maybe they could change, so that one NPC goes to bed and another one takes the night shift :P (No idea if that's possible though...)

What has happened to Cybershadows name? o_o

ON TOPIC! :D
Well... Maybe... Sounds interesting... Would add such a great feeling. Walking down the street with closed doors and no lights. But mostly annoying I think :P

I guess that it would be uber anoying, since the day in Phobos lasts 30 minutes :D

I guess if their going to implement this, and maybe the day/night creature thing, they have to increase the time a day lasts to maybe 3hours for daytime and 3hours night time so that we get 4 "phobos days" on each day or something like that

Because people do need sleep. Regardless if NPC or not. Of course, SOME NPCs doesn't need it *cough odd* but shopkeepers should get rest, that'd be nice.

If we manage to do so NPCs can go to bed and wake up again we got alot of options. If we take Tom's tavern for example, at night Tom will go to bed and close (?) the door, but if you knock on the door, he'll wake up and help you.
Or, Tom can go to sleep and his nephew (for example) could wake up and take the night shift.

I like the idea of having assistant shopkeeping NPCs, but I'd bet all my money that Zero's going to reply here and tell us it can't be done :(
