How to maybe prevent hacking

have the possibility to set a password to your dp, and when you open your dp a numeric pad pops up and you click your 4-8 digit password to open your dp

but I like the idea :P, there is one minor problem though, this community doesn't seem to be so well in remembering their login information, how about their 4-8 digit codes ingame?

No. Maybe when you log in or something, but every time you check your dp? No one's gonna have the guts to not go insane on that.

If you have a keylogger on your computer and you're not aware of it, it's only a matter of short time until it will capture your depot information - and no, it is not a protection if you let the numbers not be entered by keyboard because capturing mouse positions / strokes is something a good keylogger is capable of.

Sigh... déjà-vu...

Seppi, even a good keylogger won't be able to handle a "number pad" on your screen for that 4 -digits-password when the numbers are ordered randomly.

That's not what I meant, I meant to put the window somewhere randomly on the screen, which wont affect it much either, since I wouldn't need to know where you started but where you moved.

well, if I would ehm, break such a code I would check for the outer values and then prepare all possibilities. Till's suggestion will have affect, yours wouldn't ;P

I wonder if there's a way to get the keys if the numbers are random though.. surely wouldn't be an easy one, but I guess since captchas are passable, there'll be a way :yes:
