Poison and Diseases (and curses!)

Well... i'm not a native english speaker, so, sorry if i misspell something! ^_^

Why not put different poison and diseases to Phobos? It have a great potential. And also, players could study these diseases and use to your advantage... like an alchemist skill?

Ok, i thought these:

- Dungeon Disease

While exploring the dark dungeons, some creatures may inffect you with this disease. It would reduce the Strenght of your character.

- Swamp Fever

It would slow down your regeneration rate.

- Red Fever

Increased rate of hunger, slow regeneration, weakness to magic hits.

Sounds a lot like what Tibia just decided to do xD

It could work, but if I was walking round getting diseases every day I would be pissed off. Have to be quite rare

I saw it on the Tibia website... but i took the idea of another game, and old RPG xD

I just think it would be really nice if you could, for example:


Some kind of undead can inffect you whit the dungeon disease. Than, you take part of he's flesh and use it as an alchemy reagent, and them you can poison your weapons to inffect others with disease. It would be really nice.

To give you an idea of our current plan with this sort of thing: creature spells and attacks will to be able to have a number of different effects apart from just causing damage (in the same way that player attacks can do more than just cause damage). This includes regeneration and stat changes, but also stuff like paralysis, hallucinations, etc. However these effects won't last long and many of them may be avoided by casting the right protective spell or drinking the right potion.

The idea with this being that it will help us to make combat interesting and dynamic, but it also makes the crafting system more important for players (alchemy/brewing in particular).

Hallucination would be a cool effect, changing monsters and players into other stuff that seem scarier, or even changing the screen colors crazily in a rainbow-like fashion.
