What?? hex grid maps are extremaly ugly, ineffecient and get in the way of a good gameplay imo... Not to mention that it is too late for that anyway...

Indeed, although it's not so much a bug as it is a missing graphic. I kept that clip in because I wanted to show the weather transition there. However unfortunately the transition wasn't as obvious in the final 'cut' as I'd hoped. I actually counted 3 map bugs/missing graphics in this teaser ;)

About the diagonal walking: I think that it only looks a bit weird because characters don't turn 45 degrees when walking diagonally. Alenius would probably have a heart attack if asked to do that right now though.

Hex grids are useful because the distance between the center of each hex is always constant, there's no need to change speed when walking in diferent directions like the square grid.

I admit though, it's difficult to get people used to something other than the current arrow keys/wasd paradigm. Hex grid fits better into turn based games with heavy mouse usage.

But it's not about getting used to. I once tried to play a game with hex grid and i actually enjoyed it at first, (although it was, indeed ugly as f*), but with time i found it inefficient in it's use, i mean, there was actually no difference from perspective (i don't know how this is called) games and the gameplay get's ridiculous and sometimes impossible to play.

What I mean is.. when it was 2008, we said 2009/2010..
And when we were at 2012 we were like 'sure' it would be on 2012 and it wasnt......
So it is like not surprising if it releases only in 2014

The fact is that after all this time we had moments (staff included) that we felt sure that the project was almost done - the last one was on the 'What's left' teaser, and we all got frustrated - so i wouldn't be surprised if it still takes one or two more years to be complete.

It sure does seem like the game is coming about soon. How are you planning on promoting it? What if the game becomes widely popular? Do you have servers that can support alot of players?
